Support students – Peace on April 30, 2024
Hello steadfast peace advocates, I’m planning to email my legislators today. That’s primarily because this Peace Bit’s script is a bit long for a phone call. But I will phone their offices later on to ask the wonderful staff to “flag” my email for immediate attention. I know they’ll gladly do that. They loved talking with me… Continue reading

Corruption, begone! – Peace on April 20, 2024
Hello folk of peace and justice, Weapon makers, surveillance wizards, and guzzlers of blood and oil cocktails were already filthy rich before this century even began. Now, they are only getting more blood-drunk. And they are gaining control of more and more of our legislators worldwide. So we remind our legislators (most do not want… Continue reading

Thank you – Peace on April 11, 2024
Hello peace lovers, Writing these Peace Bits to you each day before I contact my own legislators helps me decide what to say to them. I hope you are finding them to be useful, whether you use them for personal reflection, for conversation starters, or for contacting your own Members of the Legislature/Congress/Parliament. THANK YOU… Continue reading

We can help them – Peace on April 9, 2024
Hello people who want, no, NEED peace, Today’s Peace Bit gives us options. We can convey a quickie message to our legislators (phone, email, visit— just follow the instructions on your legislators’ websites) OR, if we have time, we can get into it. OR BOTH (this is what I want to do)—>> We can first… Continue reading

Challenge – Peace on April 7, 2024
Hello intrepid peace advocates, Have you ever heard of a legislator who doesn’t play hard-to-get? Well, I recently heard rumor of one. First, I doubted my ears. But according to reports, a legislator in the United States, Representative Houlahan, just hosted her EIGHTY FOURTH TOWN HALL MEETING. And she’s only six years in office. I don’t know… Continue reading

Representation – Peace on January 2, 2024
Dear peace folk, In today’s Peace Bit, I want to strengthen our spines to keep right on imploring our legislators to work for peace and life, NOT for death. Our legislators —wherever in the world— have their hands on levers of great power, sending power toward the deadly military-industrial complex — or toward human welfare. … Continue reading

New Year’s Eve – Peace on December 31, 2023
Dear peace-loving, war-hating folks, Today’s Peace Bit is about corruption. The following is what I will be emailing to my own legislators in Virginia, in the United States. Use my message to craft your message to the individuals who represent you. Get the message across to your legislators by whatever means you can. Alter the… Continue reading
About Me
I am a peace advocate based in Rockingham County, Virginia in the United States. I “lobby” my US legislators in the cause of peace on a daily basis. I consider this advocacy to be a variation on lobbying because I am going head to head against the war lobbyists of this world. I detest war and all of its various so-called justifications. Writing a daily “Peace Bit” prompt to convey my appeals, I use my Peace Bit when I call or email or visit my own elected officials. I then share it with others who also want to appeal to their legislators in the cause of peace.
To appeal to your own legislators, just search the web for all of the contact info you will need. When calling or visiting your legislators’ offices, LAVISH the staff persons with courtesy. Their jobs are not easy! In many cases, staffers are our allies and they can have tremendous influence on their bosses!
If you subscribe to my blog you will always have new Peace Bits on hand; they are different every day. You can use them for personal reflection, for appealing to your own legislators anywhere in the world, or for planning your next Letter to the Editor. I’d love to hear how your peace advocacy goes! I invite your suggestions as well.
Please invite others to sign up for Peace Bits, will you? Our international circle of Peace Bits users grows mainly by word of mouth.
