Save children – Peace on May 14, 2024
Hello peace folk, So many children (and others) in Gaza are holding onto life by an incredibly slender thread. All of Palestine is in travail, but Palestinian children are most vulnerable. Can we implore our legislators today, again, please to speak out against weapons and war? They have incredible power in the situation, no matter… Continue reading

Say something – Peace on May 9, 2024
Hello peace advocates, Today’s Peace Bit invites us to help our elected officials say something about the “big picture” on Planet Earth. Yes, saying something could get them in trouble, so we can offer to help. People who hate war and love peace are the ones who can give them courage. We see that the… Continue reading

War games – Peace on May 6, 2024
Hello people who hate to be robbed, Today’s Peace Bit might make you angry. Because we are indeed being robbed. We are being robbed blind by the sneaky, slimy, greedy military-industrial complex which is grabbing our public money from our legislators. Our legislators are supposed to be custodians of that public money for the public good.… Continue reading

Support students – Peace on April 30, 2024
Hello steadfast peace advocates, I’m planning to email my legislators today. That’s primarily because this Peace Bit’s script is a bit long for a phone call. But I will phone their offices later on to ask the wonderful staff to “flag” my email for immediate attention. I know they’ll gladly do that. They loved talking with me… Continue reading

Investments – Peace on April 23, 2024
Hello to my favorite war-haters, Basically everyone hates war. Even generals and heads of state say they do! But we in this international circle of people who “lobby” our legislators in the cause of peace do. actively. hate. war. Today, we can contact our legislators to push the peace envelope hopefully a little further. By… Continue reading

Peace and Earth Day? – Peace on April 22, 2024
Dear peace folk, This is a Peace Bit. We who use Peace Bits for contacting our legislators (or even just for personal reflection) aren’t thinking about Earth Day? Well, we surely are. We know the practices that are leading toward the end of life on Mother Earth come from war. War on the surface and in the present… Continue reading

Write peace on her wings – Peace on April 21, 2024
Dear deeply concerned friends and associates, Today’s Peace Bit gives us two options: 1) Suggested wording for an email we can send to our legislators, and 2) Another lovely image (thanks to our Peace Bit friend Nancy!) to enjoy, to print out, and to mail to legislators. There are of course so many other options… Continue reading

Corruption, begone! – Peace on April 20, 2024
Hello folk of peace and justice, Weapon makers, surveillance wizards, and guzzlers of blood and oil cocktails were already filthy rich before this century even began. Now, they are only getting more blood-drunk. And they are gaining control of more and more of our legislators worldwide. So we remind our legislators (most do not want… Continue reading
About Me
I am a peace advocate based in Rockingham County, Virginia in the United States. I “lobby” my US legislators in the cause of peace on a daily basis. I consider this advocacy to be a variation on lobbying because I am going head to head against the war lobbyists of this world. I detest war and all of its various so-called justifications. Writing a daily “Peace Bit” prompt to convey my appeals, I use my Peace Bit when I call or email or visit my own elected officials. I then share it with others who also want to appeal to their legislators in the cause of peace.
To appeal to your own legislators, just search the web for all of the contact info you will need. When calling or visiting your legislators’ offices, LAVISH the staff persons with courtesy. Their jobs are not easy! In many cases, staffers are our allies and they can have tremendous influence on their bosses!
If you subscribe to my blog you will always have new Peace Bits on hand; they are different every day. You can use them for personal reflection, for appealing to your own legislators anywhere in the world, or for planning your next Letter to the Editor. I’d love to hear how your peace advocacy goes! I invite your suggestions as well.
Please invite others to sign up for Peace Bits, will you? Our international circle of Peace Bits users grows mainly by word of mouth.
